More details released for the Walt Disney World expansion in Frontierland
learn where the Cars expansion will happen
Disney released details on a Disney Parks Blog post today detailing where exactly the “Cars” expansion into Frontierland will happen.
As speculated Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America are going away. Disney says the area:
“will be transformed into vast and rugged terrains for a rally race with some of the world’s most iconic racers.”
As Disney announced at D23 on Saturday, August 10th this expansion will
“bring you along for the ride (pun intended) with a brand-new thrilling rally race through the mountains, climbing trails, and dodging geysers, in addition to a second attraction geared towards fun for the whole family.”
What do you think about these changes? Will you miss Tom Sawyer Island and the Riverboat?
Personally, I’ll miss seeing and hearing the boat and rafts, but we’ll get used to these new views. Tom Sawyer Island and the riverboat take up a lot of space for very few crowds. This has great potential.
