Monsters Inc. Land Location Predictions
I try to predict where the new Monsters Inc. land in Hollywood Studios will go
One of the big announcements at D23 this year was the Monsters Inc. land in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. After years of rumors we are finally getting the door coaster!
But where will this land go? There are two options. 1) Star Wars launch bay, and 2) Muppets Courtyard ( it will always be Muppets Courtyard and not Grand avenue to me).
My prediction is this new land will replace Star Wars launch bay.
Why?
No one cares about Star Wars launch bay, and I say this as an avid Star Wars fan.
Disney needs a reason to bring more people to that area of the park.
There's lots of space.
They could connect Toy Story land to Monsters Inc. land.
They need to add attractions, not replace attractions in Hollywood Studios.
Look at Google Maps:
Removing some offices and parking for cast members gives a large area, as big as Rockin’ Rollercoaster, to add this ride and land.
There are too many dead ends and long way around walkways in Hollywood Studios. Connecting Toy Story land and this Monsters Inc. land would help fix this.
Hollywood Studios is not a half day park, but it's not a full day park either. I say this with HS being my favorite WDW park. They need to add a land and attractions, and putting this new land in Launch Bay does this.
What about Muppets Courtyard?
Why not?
Not enough space
Doesn't add capacity to the park
The Muppets!
The placement doesn't make sense
I don't want it to!
Let's look at Google maps again:
PizzaRizzo is fairly new, they just built a new snack stand there, and Mama Melrose is fairly popular. I consider these signs that this area will remain.
Muppets is a beloved, by most, property and Disney needs to keep them in the parks.
I also don't think there is enough space here for a land.
Disney also wants to add capacity. Replacing PizzaRizzo, Mama Melrose, and Muppet*Vision 3D will not accomplish this.
“But Tony,” you may say, “they never opened the gift shop or Christmas shop after the pandemic and it's kind of a dead area.”
To this I say: “lalalala I can't hear you!”
Or maybe they replace the Indiana Jones Stunt spectacular? 🤔
What do you think? Comment and let me know!
